Future Actions & Events
Misbourne River Action's primary goal is to have the river flowing to its natural potential through the valley and for its corridor to be maintained in an attractive and environmentally sensitive manner. Usually, our efforts are focussed on the section downstream of Quarrendon Mill through to Chalfont Park. We have plans and proposals for a variety of restoration and rehabilitation work - some of which has yet to gain approval from the Environment Agency. At present, typical tasks include tree, brush, and weed clearance, rubbish removal and bank repairs. Our programme essentially comprises working parties approximately every five weeks on Wednesdays, Sundays or Saturdays with informal planning chats in a local pub a week or so beforehand. Proposed dates are shown below - further details, amendments and additional "ad hoc" events will be advised by e-mail and updates to this site. Some volunteers choose to do their bit at a time to suit them - some by adopting a short section of the river; others with a regular litterpick as they walk their pets; others in our weekday group.
